Maran slaps notice on Jayalalithaa for Sun TV irregularitiesChennai, Apr 25: Former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran on Saturday slapped a legal notice on All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) chief and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa for alleging irregularities in uplinking of programmes of the satellite Television channel SUN TV, which is owned by his brother Kalanidhi Maran.

In his notice, Maran has sought Rs. 10 crore and an apology from Jayalalithaa.

Chidambaram's statement came after the Tennis Australia decided to pull out of the Davis Cup tie against India, which is to be held in Chennai next month.

"The Davis Cup event is completely safe and secure. Foolproof security will be provided for the three days event. It is one event, one stadium, three days no security problem," Chidambaram told reporters here.

Polaris Software Net profit soars 78.5% in Q4Chennai-based Polaris Software has finally declared its fourth quarter results on Monday.

The firm posted a 78.5 per cent growth in its net profit at Rs 130.71 crore during the year ended March 31, 2009 against Rs 73.22 crore in the previous year.

The company's Q4 net profit stood at Rs 32.1 crore versus Rs 37.16 crore, QoQ.

Apart from this, the company's total income rose 18 per cent to Rs 337.25 crore in the fourth quarter, from Rs 286.16 crore in the same period last fiscal.
