Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi call Karunanidhi on Lanka Tamil issueChennai, Apr 27 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi today called Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, who is on an indefinite fast over Sri Lankan issue.

Dr. Singh assured Karunanidhi that his government is in touch with Colombo.

Sonia Gandhi also called the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam supremo from Murshidabad in West Bengal and expressed her concern about the plight of Tamil civilians in Sri Lanka.

Cryolor intends to setup a manufacturing unit near ChennaiCryolor, French industrial gas tanks manufacturer and a 100 per cent subsidiary of Cryolor SA, has decided to set up a manufacturing facility near Chennai.

The plant would be setup at Melmaruvattur in Chennai, covering a built up area of 15,000 sq. m.

The company intends to pump an investment worth Rs 45 crore on the plant through its fully owned subsidiary Cryolor Asia Pacific.

The multi-speciality hospital project is estimated to cost Rs 60 crore.

Chidambaram's statement came after the Tennis Australia decided to pull out of the Davis Cup tie against India, which is to be held in Chennai next month.

"The Davis Cup event is completely safe and secure. Foolproof security will be provided for the three days event. It is one event, one stadium, three days no security problem," Chidambaram told reporters here.

"We did whatever little bit in the relief work possible and there is lot of fear and anxiety among the people. They feel sort of let down by all those whom they believed in. They feel let down by their own people, they feel let down by India," said Shankar, who was in Sri Lanka since Monday.
