Twitter is going to allow advertisements to be posted on its site, so that it can generate more sales and can reach out to a greater audience.

The social networking site currently gets about 50 million short message posts every day.

Twitter is going to use the way of "promoted tweets," to get the advertisers. The names of these will include biggies like Best Buy Inc. and Starbucks Inc.

The information was given by the company in one of its blog. It also said that the ads will appear on the top of the page and it is kept in mind that the users face least possible inconvenience.

India's leading Software firm Infosys Technologies has announced its fourth quarter results for the financial year 2010. The report suggests an impressive 1.14% surge for the company.

On quarter-on-quarter basis (QoQ) around Rs 1,600 crore have poured to the company account as compared to Rs 1,582 crore in the preceding quarter.

Quarterly Revenue has also increased by 3.54% to Rs 5,944 crore from Rs 5,741 crore in the previous quarter. The revenue guidance of the company is 16-18% while it's earning per share guidance is still at 4.3% to 8.6%.

India's largest private sector steel-maker, Tata Steel has informed that is the company is still interested in its Chhattisgarh project and has not dropped the plan. The company has planned to invest Rs. 20,000-crore to set up a steel plant over here. It has also signed the memorandum of understanding with the State government in the year 2005.

However, this huge delay in execution has created a question mark about the project. At the same time, the state is dealing with some serious Maoist violence in the state.

Market analysts have predicted that the IT companies are likely to post modest growth in their fourth quarter earnings. The increased overseas demand has encouraged the frontline software exporting companies of the country but on the other hand, a strong rupee and hike in wages is going to affect the profit margins of the technology companies.

Revenue growth is estimated to be 3-5% range in US dollar terms. Brokerage firm Edelweiss has informed that there may be a modest rise in pricing but any earnings upgrade is having too less chance to happen.
