Octogenarian Pak man forcibly marries 12-year-oldMirpur Khas (Pakistan), Apr. 22: A case has been registered against an 80-year-old Pakistani man for allegedly kidnapping, forcibly marrying and keeping a 12-year-old girl in illegal confinement for a year.

Addressing a press conference, Shabana’s father Sabir Shaikh said that he, along with his family, had gone to the house of his brother Abdullah Shaikh in Karachi last year.

The apprehended accused, Rasool, and his brother Abdul Malik who are also his relatives kidnapped his daughter, he added.

Pakistan Cricket BoardLahore, Apr 22 : It seems that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and scandals are made for each other. The PCB women’s wing advisor Azrah Parveen was sacked on Tuesday after an audio scandal, allegedly involving her, surfaced on YouTube.

“Yes, Azrah Parveen has been relieved of her duties. She has been asked to report to the Sports Board Punjab (SBP) from where she came on deputation,” a spokesman for the women’s wing told reporters here.

Taliban militants extend authority in Pakistan's north-west Islamabad  - Taliban militants in Pakistan's north-western Swat valley extended their authority over another district after the government last week allowed Islamic sharia law to be imposed in the region, officials said Wednesday.

President Asif Ali Zardari approved a regulation on April 13 to impose Islamic sharia law in Malakand Division, which includes Swat and seven other districts, after a hardline cleric brokered a peace agreement between the regional government and the Taliban.

Pak SC rejects petition-challenging death as the only punishment for blasphemy

Pak Taliban militants’ accused of brutal killings will enjoy immunity: SufiIslamabad, Apr 22 : Pakistan’s Supreme Court has rejected an appeal against a Federal Shariat Court (FSC) ruling that death is the only punishment that the Islamic law provides for blasphemy.

The Shariat Appellate Bench of the Supreme Court gave the decision on Tuesday, The Dawn reported.

Bishop Dani L. Tasleem filed the appeal 18 years ago after the FSC gave the judgment in exercise of its powers to determine if the existing laws conformed to Sharia.
