Pak asks Britain to not deport students caught during anti-terror raidsIslamabad, Apr 23 : Pakistan has asked the British government not to deport its citizens who were rounded up on suspicion of links with terrorists, but were later released, as the UK Police could not produce evidence against them.

Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit said students had to undergo a harsh time behind bars and now it is up to the UK Government to compensate the students.

According to sources, eight companies of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) have been sent to the district to safe guard government buildings and bridges, which the government fears the Taliban could attack.

ATC extends judicial remand of Mumbai attack suspect by six more daysRawalpindi, Apr. 23 : An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has extended the judicial remand of one of the Mumbai terror attack suspect Shahid Jamil Riaz by six days.

Riaz, a Laskar-e-Taiyaba (LeT) operative, has been sent to Adiala Jail till April 28.

He was brought to the court by the FIA amid tight security, The Daily Times reported.

FIA's Investigation Officer Inspector Zahid asked the court to extend Riaz's remand for further investigations, for which the court agreed.
