Tata’s Nano to be launched on Monday

Tata NanoNew Delhi, Mar 22 : Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata is all set to launch the world's cheapest car, Nano, on Monday.

Described as `people's car' by Ratan Tata, customers can expect to own a car at a price between Rs. 1.20 lakh and Rs. 1.30 lakh, depending on the version of Nano.

The Nano would come in three versions -- standard and two deluxe models with air conditioning.

After the launch in Mumbai, Nano would be displayed at the company's dealerships from the first week of April, while the bookings would start from the following week.

The booking amount is fixed at Rs. 70,000.

Tata Teleservices to roll out GSM technology by January 2009

Rattan TataMumbai, Nov. 14 : Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata has announced that Tata Teleservices would roll out next generation technologies including the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) by January 2009.

"It is a great pleasure and privilege for the Tata Group to partner with NTT DoCoMo (of Japan) at this time and I hope to give together, give the public a wider range of products and excellent bases of service not only in current technologies but in the technologies yet to come," Tata Group''s Chairman, Ratan Tata told reporters at a press conference here.
