BEML net dips by 17%

Bharat Earth Movers LtdState-run BEML (Bharat Earth Movers Ltd) has declared its year-end quarter financial results for the fiscal year 2009-10 and has reported a decline in net profit figure in this year.

The company has posted a net profit of Rs.223 crore for the year that ended on 31st March, 2010. The company has said that there has been a decline of 17% in this year under review, against the preceding year.

The company has posted a net profit of Rs.157 crore for the quarter that ended on 31st March, 2010.

India crushes Sri Lanka to win Asia Cup

Asia Cup A 15-year-old title drought for India has come to an end. India has registered an emphatic victory over Sri Lanka in the final of the Asia Cup cricket tournament played at Dambulla.

Hyundai targeting a 15% growth in 2010

According to Arvind Saxena, Director - Sales & Marketing, Hyundai Motors India, the company expects the automobile market in India to grow by 15-18% in 2010 and the company is hoping to grow by a similar number in order to retain its market share in the Indian market.

Koo also pointed out the fact that its price can be in the range of Rs 20 lakh to Rs 22 lakh, which will be very competitive in its segment.

Hyundai may relaunch Elantra

HyundaiCountry's largest exporter of passenger cars and the second largest carmaker, Hyundai Motor India recently said that the company may look at the option of relaunching the premium sedan, Elantra in the Indian market, which was phased out in 2007.

It is to be mentioned here that the product was phased out because of the fact that it wasn't able to make its presence in the Indian market and gained a poor consumer response. Company's Senior Director Y K Koo recently said that the company is weighing the option of relaunching the product in the Indian market.
