It has been reported that AAR Corp. will provide more cargo and passenger airlift services in Afghanistan under a military contract worth $24 million per year.

It said in a news release on Thursday that the initial Short Take-off and Landing award is for one year, with four one-year renewal options.

AAR recently acquired Aviation Worldwide Services, which currently has three other Department of Defense contracts in Afghanistan for cargo and personnel transport using 12 fixed-wing and 19 rotary-wing aircraft.

Anil Ambani’s Reliance Power has said that it has attained financial closure of around Rs 17,500 crore for its power project at Krishnapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

It is a 4,000 MW coal-fired project which will be funded in 75 parts debt and 25 parts equity.
