Chaitanya Sravanthi-2008 will celebrated by TANA in Hyderabad on December 27
Chaitanya Sravanthi-2008 will be organized by TANA (The Telugu Association of North America) in Hyderabad on December 27. This programme comprises of discussions and contests for disabled sportspersons.
Tana secretary Thotakura Prasad said that sports competition in 16 events will be conducted to the physically challenged sportspersons on December 27. He added that on this occasion, The Young Mens' Happy Club, Kakinada will organise `Allasani Peddana,'a mythological drama written by Akella and directed by YSR Murthy at the same venue.
He said that the main focus of Chaitanya Sravanthi will be on disabled children. To this extent TANA has organised schemes to benefit street children throughout the State.
As per schedule, the sporting events will be inaugurated by cine star Pawan Kalyan at 9.30 am at the NTR Stadium near Indira Park. The discussion on 'Classical Language Status for Telugu' will begin at Ravindra Bharati at 10.30 am. Minister for Animal Husbandry Mandali Buddha Prasad will be the chief guest at the discussion. Many politicians, bureaucrats and academicians including Jnanpeeth awardee C Narayana Reddy will participate in the discussion.
Tana president-elect and interim president Jayaram Komati said, "Gidugu Rama Murthy award will be presented to Ramesh Babu, who migrated from Andhra Pradesh and settled in Hosur of Karnakata, for his outstanding services rendered to Telugu language."
