Roto Pumps secures order worth Rs 3.6 croreNoida-based Roto Pumps Ltd has secured an order worth Rs 3.6 crore from Larsen & Toubro Ltd, for Rajasthan Northern Area Development Project of Cairn Energy India Pvt. Ltd.

The company claims that the latest order is the single largest value order in the history of the Roto Pumps, which it has picked amidst stiff International competition.

According to the company, Larsen & Toubro Ltd is the contractor for this project and the project is certified for deemed export benefits.

Noida CEO beaten to death by sacked employees

Noida, Uttar PradeshNoida (Uttar Pradesh), Sept 22 : The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a Noida company was beaten to death today by some dismissed employees inside office premises following the failure of a meeting, that was called to resolve a dispute between them and the management.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Noida) R K Chaturvedi said that L K Chaudhury, the CEO of Gradiano in Udyog Vihar of Greater Noida, was killed when the agitating workers turned violent and beat him up.

Paswan, Amar Singh halted before entering Greater Noida

Ram Vilas Paswan, Amar SinghNoida, Aug 19 : Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Ram Vilas Paswan, Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh and others were stopped on Tuesday when they tried to enter Greater Noida, where four persons were killed in police firing on August 13.

While the Lok Sabha member and the Union Minister’s younger brother Ramchandra Paswan was taken into custody by the Uttar Pradesh Police, Paswan and Amar Singh were halted at the Delhi-UP border itself.

4 killed in clashes between farmers and police in Greater NoidaGreater Noida (Uttar Pradesh), August 13 : At least three farmers and one police constable died and 50 others injured in police firing in Greater Noida when agitating farmers demanding adequate compensation for their acquired land by the Uttar Pradesh Government turned violent.

Around 2000 farmers were protesting for the past few days demanding enhanced compensation for their land acquired in 2006 by the Uttar Pradesh government. The demonstrators turned violent this afternoon pelting stones at policemen.

Harkrishan Singh Surjeet passes away

Noida, Aug 1: Veteran Marxist leader Harkrishan Singh Surjeet passed away today. He was 92.

On July 26, he was admitted at the Metro Hospital in Noida where he was treated for respiratory problems. Earlier, he had slipped into coma.

The veteran CPI (M) leader was suffering from cardiac-respiratory problems.

With his health declining, Surjeet was, for the first time, not included in the CPI (M) Polit Bureau at the party's 19th congress in early April 2008. He was instead designated as Special Invitee to the Central Committee.

He was the General Secretary of the CPI (M) from 1992 to 2005 and was a member of the party's Polit Bureau from 1964 to 2008.
