New Delhi, Apr 28 : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has removed the name of the lone surviving suspect in the Bofors payoff case Ottavio Quattrocchi from its list of most wanted persons.

The 12-year Interpol Red Corner Notice against the Italian businessman, has been removed from the "Interpol Notices" section of CBI''s website.

The agency''s decision is based on the legal advice of the Attorney General Milon Banerjee. On October 28, last year, Banerjee had described the RCN as " a continued embarrassment."

Petronet LNG, the nation's largest liquefied natural gas importer, has registered 70.24 growth in its net profit to Rs 204.35 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31.

The company had a net profit of Rs 120.03 crore in the same quarter ended March 2008.

Further, the company's total income also rose to Rs 2,654.88 crore in the quarter, up by 51.47% from Rs 1,752.65 crore in the previous year-ago quarter.

For the full year ended March 31, 2009, the company posted a net profit of Rs 518.44 crore, up 9.22 % as compared with Rs 474.66 crore in the last fiscal.

Rajkot, Apr 27: Congress spokesman and Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma on Monday reiterated the need for equal rights for Sri Lankan Tamils, saying that they should be helped with a healing touch from a humanitarian angle.

“There is humanitarian situation in Sri Lanka. It is a worrisome issue about Sri Lankan Tamil citizens. India has clearly said one thing that Tamilians living there ought to get full and equal rights,” Anand Sharma said.

Pune, Apr 27: The Foreigners'' Registration Office (FRO) has issued notices to college authorities in Pune to provide information about foreign students. The notices have been issued to keep a check on the activities of foreign students.

Guidelines pertaining to admissions and other information about foreign students have been framed for colleges. The colleges will now have to report to the police if these students are involved in illegal activities and misbehaviour.
