Hennepin Realty’s casino project aims to transform Niagara Falls’ skyline
A gambling-friendly ambitious proposal, led by Hennepin Realty Holdings, aims to transform Niagara Falls’ skyline with the construction of a towering hotel and state-of-the-art residential complex. Under the proposed project, the developers seek to construct a couple of 58-story towers at 6546 Fallsview Boulevard. Upon completion, these two towers would reportedly become the highest structures in the city.
At present, the site is occupied by the 21-story Oakes Hotel, which is known for offering eye-catching views of the iconic Niagara Falls. To make way for the new project, which will integrate a hotel, a casino, office areas, banquet and residential facilities, existing hotel will have to be demolished.
The Alliance, the proposed casino and residential towers that will boast impressive heights of 210.05 meters, will be designed by a team of Toronto-based architects. The towers will offer a total of 1,140 state-of-the-art hotel suites and 126 residential units. All of these will be connected by a six-story podium that will feature a central three-story atrium. The podium’s second level will house restaurant and gaming facilities. On the fifth floor, there will be a sky bridge linking the two structures.
Amenities like spa, swimming pool, and fitness center, which will cater to guests as well as residents, will be located on the sixth floor. If everything goes as planned, it will significantly outshine the existing tallest building in Niagara Falls, the Hilton Niagara Falls North Tower, in terms of height.
The proposed development aims to redefine the skyline of the famous city, but it will face significant competition from some other projects that are already in the pipeline. With numerous developments in the pipeline competing for the title of the city’s highest structure, the city is on the verge of vertical expansion.
The long list of competing development projects includes a 77-story structure at 5602 Robinson Street, a 72-story structure at 6605 Stanley Avenue, 56-story structures at 5383 Robinson Street, and dual towers measuring 60-61 stories at 5555 River Road. All these projects have been in various stages of planning, promising a competitive race capable of reshaping the city’s skyline.
With the Niagara Falls continue to evolve, one can expect the city’s skyline to experience significant transformation. The proposed project, spearheaded by Hennepin Realty, underscores a trend towards expanding real estate activities in one of the world’s leading tourist destinations.
