SpaceX has said on Monday that it will launch a Thai television broadcasting satellite from Cape Canaveral in 2013.

The Thaicom 6 satellite will be launched aboard a Falcon 9 sometime in 2013 to cater to the growing demand in the region. SpaceX did not disclose the exact value of the deal but a standard Falcon 9 flight costs $54 million.

Thaicom Public Company Ltd had announced the $160 million satellite project May 31, which will allow the company to expand the company's business in satellite television broadcasting over Southeast Asia and South Asia.

Mumbai, June 14 : A benchmark index for Indian equities markets rose slightly in early trade Tuesday, while broader indices managed moderate gains.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 18,276.78 points, was ruling at 18,321.5 points, up 65.14 points or 0.36 percent from its previous close at 18,266.03 points.

The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was also trading in the green at 5,504.05 points, up 0.39 percent.

Mumbai, June 14 : Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi feels that there are too many misconceptions about Islam and that 90 percent of what people know about the religion is a myth.

"Islam is a very nice religion, but it's been misinterpreted very badly. Quran means a book to be read; it doesn't claim to be a holy book," Arshad told IANS.

He said, "Ninety percent of what people say about Islam is a myth. People say that in Islam you get a divorce by just saying the word talaaq three times. All that is rubbish. It is not that you say the word three times and marriage is over."

According to certain reports, Apple may be recalling a certain number of Verizon 3G iPad 2 devices before deliveries are made to the customers.

The company is reportedly also recalling the device from its retails stores. Apple had kept silent on the issue but today’s reports suggest that issue might be affecting the iPads. The issue is believed to be relating to duplicated Verizon Mobile Equipment Identifier (MEID) numbers that affect 3G connectivity.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has been targeted by a "large and sophisticated cyberattack" that has put sensitive information of its systems at risk of being compromised.

A report in the New York Times, which first published the report, said that IMF is "the repository of highly confidential information about the fiscal condition of many nations."

Sensitive information about national economies are at risk of being stolen.

Two US senators have written a letter to the US Attorney General alerting them of the existence of an online underground website called Silk Road facilitating exchange of illegal drugs.

The letter, whose copy was also sent to the Drugs Enforcement Agency, says that users of Silk Road can "freely purchase and sell illegal drugs . . . from cocaine and heroin, to ecstasy and marijuana".

The senators also said that the using an online currency called Bitcoin. The currency was created by an anonymous Japanese computer science student using the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. It was first used by hackers for making exchanges and is now emerging as the de-facto unofficial currency for the internet.
