Maruti pushes the rural accelerator

Maruti pushes the rural acceleratorAfter Maruti’s market share has gone down below 50%, for the first time in its 25 year history, the country’s leading automotive player is now looking to regain the market share by pushing the rural sales in the Indian market.

According to the recently devised strategy, the company is now planning to raise its share of rural sales to 20 per cent from the current 17 per cent.

It is believed by the company that the increased sales push in rural India will fill that gap to regain what it’s losing in urban markets. Shashank Srivastava, CGM – marketing of Maruti Suzuki India recently said that products like Omni, Alto etc. are doing very well in the Indian market and the company is now planning to push them in the rural areas even more aggressively.

The growing competition has been a very big problem for the market leader in the recent times.

However, the company is very confident of the fact that its aggressive rural strategy will be able to do its trick to ensure that the company is back on 50%+ market share in the Indian market.
