Mahindra to take a call on Ssangyong on July 28
According to the latest developments, Mahindra & Mahindra, India's largest utility vehicles and tractor maker will now take a call on the bidding decision for the troubles Korean auto major, Ssangyong Motors on the 28th of July.
According to a company spokesman, the home-grown company will now be taking a call on Ssangyong on the 28th July rather than the earlier decided date of 15th July.
The company is currently under the process of due diligence and hence is not sure whether it will be filing the final bid for the troubled Korean automaker.
In fact, companies like Ruia Group, France's Renault, Nissan Motor and Mahindra are in hunt to grab the cash-strapped automaker. It is to be mentioned here that the final bid deadline was extended on Tuesday by three weeks to Aug, 0 to give more time to participants for due diligence.
As Ssangyong Motors manufactures products in the SUV and recreational vehicles segment, it is believed that the target company may well suit the global ambitions of Mahindra & Mahindra. However, the name of the final buyer will appear only after 10th August.
