KKR To Invest Rs 750 Crore In Dalmia Cement
Cement manufacturer Dalmia Cement (Bharat) and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) have entered into a deal under which KKR will invest around Rs 750-crore in the cement company's wholly-owned unregistered division.
The investment will assist for post-restructuring of DCB's 9 MTPA cement production capacitance, DCB's stake in OCL India (5.3 MTPA capacity) together with the forthcoming greenfield projects of 10 MTPA across India.
The proceeds will be used for both organic and inorganic expansion and de-leveraging.
Dalmia Cement (Bharat)'s MD Puneet Dalmia said that the deal will permit the company to improve its capability and market share via organic plus inorganic paths, whereas benefiting from KKR's worldwide system and proven value-creation capacities.
Mr. Sanjay Nayar, KKR India's CEO stated, "While the cement industry by nature is cyclical, this is a long-term investment in a great family business, its management team and in India's economy." (With Inputs from Agencies)
