Honda Recalls Over 400,000 Cars In US Over Faulty Brake Pedals

Honda Recalls Over 400,000 Cars In US Over Faulty Brake PedalsJapanese car manufacturer Honda is recalling 412,000 vehicles in United States due to a problem with brake pedals.

The company said that it would recall 344,000 Odyssey and 68,000 Element models after getting complaints from clients that their brake pedals felt "soft", or the pedal would get closer to the floor before the vehicle stopped.

The declaration comes following Japanese competitor Toyota's recall of over 8 million cars throughout the world over safety fears mainly with its accelerator pedals that prompted increased inquiry globally.

Honda said the brake problems were owing to the steady accretion of air over time in a part of the braking system.

Affected clients in United States will be notified by the company from the coming month (April 2010).

Last month, Honda also recalled over 400,000 vehicles around the globe over defective airbags. (With Input from Agencies)
