Nadal leads unchanged Top 10 tennis rankings Hamburg  - Spain's Rafael Nadal continues to head an unchanged ATP men's tennis rankings Top 10 issued by the ruling body on Monday, followed by Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

At the top, Nadal has 14,360 points, while Federer stands on 11,000.

Serena Williams top unchanged women's tennis rankings Hamburg - American Serena Williams remains top of an unchanged women's tennis rankings issued Monday by the WTA ruling body.

Williams leads the rankings with 9,432 points followed by Russia's Dinara Safina on 9,021.

Somdev wins Davis Cup tie for India

Somdev DevvarmanKaohsiung, Mar 8 : Indian Tennis sensation Somdev Devvarman on Sunday steered India to the third round of the Asia/Oceania Group I Davis Cup competition by beating Yen-Hsun Lu 6-2 6-1 6-3.

The victory gave the visitors a 3-1 lead against Chinese Taipei.

It was an intense battle from the start with Somdev got the first chance of a break point.

Lu saved the first two break points in the fourth game but Somdev kept hitting a stunning double-handed backhand winner to break Lu, taking a 3-1 lead.

Lu made many unforced errors, which cost him the game.

Israeli player Ram says protests in Sweden a "sad moment" for sport

Israeli tennis player Andy RamMalmo, Sweden/Tel Aviv  - Israeli tennis player Andy Ram has described the protests against his country at the Davis Cup in Sweden as a "sad moment for tennis, sport and for Israel," in an article published by Israel's daily Yediot Achronot on Sunday.

Ram wrote that he had never encountered such hatred and mixing of sport and politics in his entire sporting career.

"These events have changed my view of Sweden completely and I doubt whether I even want to return here," he said.

Nadal returned to action at a tie postponed by 24 hours due to high winds at the Mediterranean resort, hammering Serb Janko Tipsarevic 6-1, 6-0, 6-2.

Teammate David Ferrer followed on in a revenge rerun of last weekend's Dubai final as he made it 2-0 to the defending champion by beating Novak Djokovic 6-3, 6-3, 7-6
(7-4).
