Lahore, Dec. 8 : The banned militant outfit Lashkar-e-toiba has said that it has devised ways at the grassroots level to circumvent a Pakistan Government move to curb its activities.

Authorities in Islamabad have ordered the police to prevent banned militant organizations like the Lashkar from collecting the hides of sacrificial animals.

A member of Lashkar-e-Toiba said that the “organisation has already devised a grassroots-level strategy to collect hides.”

Lahore, Dec. 8 : The Pakistani Government, in its bid to tackle the terror problem amidst rising international pressure, has ordered the police to prevent banned militant organisations from collecting the hides of sacrificial animals.

After the Mumbai attack, India blamed Pakistan for not cracking down on banned organisations masterminding such attacks.

The Pakistan Government, however, has denied the Indian claims and decided to take extraordinary measures to neutralize all aspersions being raised against it.

Lahore, Dec. 6 : The Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Chief Operating Officer (COO) Saleem Altaf has said that Pakistan is preparing for next month’s series against India despite doubts being raised about it being held in the wake of last week’s terror attacks in Mumbai.

Altaf said that cricket officials are making all possible arrangements to ensure a successful series.

From giving a comprehensive facelift to the venues involved to getting solid assurances from the authorities over security arrangements for the visitors, Pakistan are trying to ensure that they are fully ready for the series, reports The News.

Lahore, Dec. 6 : Suspended Pakistani pace bowler Mohammad Asif broke down in tears on television, while apologizing for his alleged dope charges.

Asif admitted he had shamed himself and let down his supporters and Pakistan cricket.

“My behaviour has not been perfect and I have made mistake after mistake. I am sorry for that to the nation,” Asif admitted.

Mohammad Asif is also facing a disciplinary action for spending 19 days in police custody in Dubai for possession of a banned substance (opium) in June this year.

Lahore, Dec. 5 : Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director-General Javed Miandad has said that he is determined and motivated enough to get the country’s first class cricketing infrastructure back on its feet.

“My utmost effort will be to revive domestic cricket that has been destroyed in the past seven years due to unwise steps taken by the previous regimes of the PCB,” he told reporters at the Gaddafi Stadium here on Thursday.
