JuD ban has not affected Pak-China ties: Pakistan FOIslamabad, Dec. 24 : A Pakistan foreign office statement has said that blacklisting of Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) under the United Nation Security Council Resolution
1267 has not affected Pak-China relations.

The statement released on Tuesday said that the action against JuD and certain individuals was initiated following their designation by the UN Sanctions Committee on the consolidated list of individuals and entities associated with Al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

Car bomb kills woman in Pakistan

Islamabad  - A car bomb killed one woman and wounded four other people in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore on Wednesday, police said.

Pak Army denies arrest of its soldier by Indian authorities

Islamabad, Dec 24: The Pakistan Army has rejected India''s claim that an infantry soldier of its 10 AK (Azad Kashmir) regiment has been arrested along with two suicide attackers.

Sepoy Ghulam Farid, who had been arrested by Indian authorities, had deserted from Okara on June 6, 2008, Dawn quoted an army official, as saying.

"He is certainly not an army employee. His unit is not deployed on the Line of Control," he added.

An other Pakistan army official added that the Indians might have arrested Ghulam Farid some time in the past.

Aggressive statements by India are a threat to regional peace: Zardari

Islamabad, Dec. 23 : Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has said that harsh and threatening statements made by Indian leaders are damaging the political atmosphere in South Asia and threatening peace in the region.

"We are keeping a close watch on the political developments and the tone of the statements from the Indian leadership," the Daily Times quoted Zardari, as saying.

Indian leaders, especially External Minister Pranab Mukherjee have been talking tough on the terror issue and has warned Pakistan to face severe consequences if it does not disentangle terror camps from its territory.

Panic in Islamabad, Lahore over low flying fighter

Islamabad, Dec. 23: Low flying fighter jets over major Pakistan cities created panic among people raising fears of war.

Residents in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore were in panic on seeing Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jets flying over their cities. Many of them started making frantic phone calls to media house to enquire about whether a war has been declared.

Pakistan has put its air force on alert and increased aerial surveillance of key cities after India reiterated that its options are open inorder to deal with terrorist organizations and bring the perpetrators of Mumbai attack to justice.
