Aggressive statements by India are a threat to regional peace: Zardari

Islamabad, Dec. 23 : Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has said that harsh and threatening statements made by Indian leaders are damaging the political atmosphere in South Asia and threatening peace in the region.

"We are keeping a close watch on the political developments and the tone of the statements from the Indian leadership," the Daily Times quoted Zardari, as saying.

Indian leaders, especially External Minister Pranab Mukherjee have been talking tough on the terror issue and has warned Pakistan to face severe consequences if it does not disentangle terror camps from its territory.

Zardari made the statements after holding talks with the Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Kayani to discuss military preparations in case of any attack.

Zardari expressed satisfaction with the preparations and assured General Kayani of all help from government.

"Army would be provided with all the resources it required," he said. (ANI)
