Kanpur, Nov 18 : Authorities have beefed up security in Kanpur ahead of the third One-Day International to be played on Thursday between India and England.
The administration has turned the hotel, where players will stay and the Green Park stadium in virtual citadels as a five-tier security cordon would be protecting the players and the match would be played in a fortified security conditions.
Oslo (Norway), Nov 18 : Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr Anbumani Ramadoss, who is on official visit to Norway met the Prime Minister of Norway Jens Stoltenberg at Oslo today and discussed issues pertaining to health sector cooperation between the two countries.
During this meeting, Dr. Ramadoss highlighted implementation of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Imunisation Programme, maternal and child health programme, tobacco control measures, HIV/AIDS in India.
Stoltenberg appreciated Dr Ramadoss on the NRHM and the reduction in Maternal mortality ratio in India.
New Delhi - Egypt and India have decided to rekindle old ties in tune with contemporary realities, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said Tuesday after delegation-level talks with visiting President Hosni Mubarak.
The two countries agreed to establish a strategic dialogue at the foreign ministry level. Six agreements on issues ranging from trade to outer space were signed in the presence of the two leaders.
In a joint statement, Singh and Mubarak described their wide-ranging talks on terrorism, energy security, economic ties and food and energy security as "extremely productive and fruitful."
New Delhi, Nov 18 : A 10 member Indian Army delegation today left for Beijing to attend the final planning conference to decide the exact theme, setting and level of participation for first-ever Sino-Indian military combat exercise to jointly counter terror and insurgency.
The exercise is likely to be held in hilly training areas near Belgaum in Karnataka. It is to be conducted for a duration of two weeks and will commence from either second or third week of December. Exact dates will finalised after all the modalities are discussed with the visiting Indian delegation.
New Delhi, Nov. 18 : DHL, the world’s leading express and logistics company, today announced its partnership with UNICEF and the Government of India in support of efforts to reduce malnutrition and infant mortality in the Nandurbar District of Maharashtra, India.
DHL’s grant will fund a three-year UNICEF project to empower communities to improve child survival rates in 1,000 villages in Maharashtra.
