New Delhi, Nov 18 : Reacting to Finance Minister P. Chidambaram''s call to reduce prices to boost demand, Industrialist Rahul Bajaj today said that there is no scope for price cuts in two wheeler industry in near future.
Speaking on the sidelines of an Economic Summit here, Bajaj said the firm''s scope for price cuts was limited by tight margins on motorcycle sales, which were likely to contract in the year ending in March.
New Delhi, Nov 18 : Union Tourism and Culture Minister Ambika Soni today said that all efforts are on to have inclusive growth in the tourism sector in the country.
Addressing the meeting of Consultative Committee attached to Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Culture here, Soni said schemes are being formulated and implemented in a manner that urban rural divide is bridged and every social and ethnic group is included in the promotion of tourism in the country.
Kathmandu, Nov 18 : Visiting Former Indian President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam today said that investment in education sector was essential for rural development without which achieving the development of Nepal was impossible.
Addressing the 14th convocation ceremony of Kathmandu University in Dhulikhel, Kavre, Dr. Kalam urged the Kathmandu University graduates to pay attention for development of rural areas of Nepal.
Citing the instance of India''s project for developing 6000 villages, he suggested that Nepal should launch similar projects in 4000 villages.
New Delhi, Nov. 18 : Joseph Caron has assumed charge as Canada''s new High Commissioner to India. High Commissioner Caron presented his credentials to President Pratibha Patil on November 10. He will present his credentials as Canada’s Ambassador to Nepal on November 21 in Kathmandu.
On the occasion of the presentation, Caron stated, “I am pleased to see the strength of the bilateral relationship and the people-to-people ties arising from our history of immigration, and welcome future cooperation between Canada and India. It is in this spirit that I officially undertake my role as Canada’s High Commissioner to India.”
