Scientists have been puzzled since previous year when a Europe's Rosetta probe landed on the surface of a comet and they got to know about its rubber duck shape. Scientists think either the odd shape was because of localized erosion on Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko’s surface or likely the merger of two comets.

On Monday, a study was published in Nature. The study concluded that it was a collision that resulted into the comet's unique, double-lobed look. In November, the European Space Agency's Rosetta probe landed on the comet, and was the first every successful attempt to land on a frozen leftover of the solar system's birth.

The Antarctic coastline is home to some species, like marine worms and sea stars. These soft-bodied species are capable of surviving in cold waters of Antarctica. A study found that shell-crushing crabs have started invading the continent. Rising water temperatures off the coast of Antarctica are responsible for the invasion, according to the study published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

The study by Richard Aronson, a biological sciences professor at the Florida Institute of Technology, and other researchers found that weather conditions in Antarctica are favorable for invasion by shell-crushing crabs. The crabs, well known for feeding on animals with soft bodies, could affect the local ecology, the study warned.

Scientists have confirmed on Monday that liquid water is flowing on the surface of Mars. The discovery could raise chances of life on the planet. According to the scientists, they used the United States space agency’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter to find strong evidence of water on the Red Planet. The evidence showed that briny water routinely flows on the surface of the planet, they added.

Writing in the journal Nature Geoscience, scientists said the discovered water source is salty, but it has strengthened the possibilities of life on the fourth planet from the sun. Before this discovery, scientists thought that Mars had water long time ago, but now they have found that the planet is still wet.

Clean-water activists hope that the latest data about the high lead levels in kids could cause revival of a lawsuit against the city of Flint. The attorney for a Flint group said she will amend the complaint to force the city back to Detroit's water system.

Trachelle Young's lawsuit on behalf of the Coalition for Clean Water was dismissed earlier this month. But Young said that the new information could revive the lawsuit.

“We are working on filing an amendment. We are considering a class action. But we are not going to drop this matter until the city residents have safe, clean water that they can drink, and cook, and shower with”, she said.

Researchers in a recent study have found that exercising helps improve ovulation in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a common hormone disorder that often causes infertility, Medical News Today reported.

PCOS is a condition which occurs when a woman’s body produces slightly higher than normal amount of testosterone and other androgens, sex hormones associated with male traits.

The Organization added that last year, 39% of adults aged 18 years and over were overweight and 13% were obese. Besides this, it also mentioned that by the year 2013, 42 million children below 5 were overweight or obese. As a result of this, the annual death rates have been relatively growing and alarming.

In an overweight or obese person, heart gets affected due to which cardiovascular disease, primarily heart disease and stroke, strikes in, leading to death.
