President Barack Obama has announced a new housing fund which would be given to five states. The total corpus involved is $1.5 billion which would be spilt amongst these states based on their demands and requirements. The five states in question are- Michigan, Arizona, California, Florida and Nevada.

They are the ones that have been the hardest hit by the recent foreclosures during the financial recession. They have seen the house prices fall by as much as 20 per cent. Out of the list, Michigan is the least hurt.

The much awaited scheme for the mobile number portability has sought a clearance from the central Government as it will soon be launched in Bangalore and Chennai. This was confirmed by the Communications and Information Minister Mr. A. Raja.

The mobile number portability would allow users to migrate from one telecom service provider to the other without change in phone numbers. It was proposed to be launched earlier than May but got procrastinated due to the pending security issues for the devices which were being imported from other countries.

British Airways, in a plea of cutting the numbers of manpower from its global and European fleets, has led the staff fuming in anger. However the cabin crew staff failed to make the High Court intervene in the fleet matter, leading the airline to stick to its cost-cutting proposal.

Upon the crew reaching the court, BA commented that it has the rights to reduce the manpower count from Cabin crew territory, when required. And the same shall not breach the individual staff's contract.

General Motors former CEO Fritz Henderson has now been hired back by the company as a consultant. The new job of Henderson is to provide his advice to the company on international operations.
