Former GM chief Henderson is back in the company but this time as a consultantGeneral Motors former CEO Fritz Henderson has now been hired back by the company as a consultant. The new job of Henderson is to provide his advice to the company on international operations.

On Thursday, Henderson and a GM subsidiary signed a deal to have him work as a consultant on a monthly basis. According to the deal, Henderson will work as a consultant for about 20 hours of each month and also he will participate in one meeting per month with the president of GM's international operations. For his services as consultant, Henderson will be paid $59,090 per month plus expenses. The deal will expire on December 31.

"This is an agreement to provide consulting to the company on international operations, an area where Fritz has unrivaled expertise," GM spokesman, Chris Preuss said. "That is the basis of this agreement."

Henderson was earlier forced out of the company on December 1 but he wasn't officially separated from GM until December 31, according to the SEC filing by GM. Ed Whitacre, who was working as Chairman since this summer, was appointed as CEO in December after Henderson resigned.
