5,000 heavy duty vans recalled by General MotorsNearly 5,000 heavy duty vans are being recalled amid concerns of potential engine fires, General Motors Co. has said.

While General Motors is recalling thousands of heavy-duty 2010 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana passenger and cargo vans, GM spokesman Alan Adler assured the public the recall issue has not resulted in any accidents or injuries to date, the Detroit News said on Saturday.

Three fires did take place after the vans were manufactured and left the assembly plant, Adler said. The vans being recalled were all manufactured in February or March.
