Chinese handset maker, ZTE said on Wednesday that it has failed to meet the security requirements of Indian government. This, it said, was told by the operators.

This failure may stop the company from selling its products in India and that may deny it the opportunity of competing in the second fastest growing mobile handset market of India.

ZTE supplies network gears to the Indian players. The whole issue started after India started to check the hardware of mobile citing security as the motive.

The production of food grain in India is expected to fall short by 7 per cent this year, despite a robust wheat production.

The fall is the result of drought. The total food grain production was 218.9 million tons as against 80.98 million tons.

Foodgrain is considered to comprise of wheat, rice, pulses and coarse cereals. But wheat, which is staple food for larger section of the society, is considered to form the bigger part.

The Energy Information Administration in its weekly inventory report said US crude stockpiles rose 1.95 million barrels in the week ended May 7. Tuesday, industry group American Petroleum Institute reported a 362,000 barrel rise in crude inventories. Now support for the crude is seen at 3354 and below could see a test of 3319. Resistance is now likely to be seen at 3449, a move above could see prices testing 3509.
