Cities can be used to soak CO2, study According to a new study, cities and urban centers can be of great help in soaking up carbon dioxide (CO2), which is the main greenhouse gas resulting in global warming.

The study says that even as the urban centers, which account for about four percent of the world's land surface and is rising due to increasing population of the world, are believed to lack "sinks" where vegetation soaks up CO2 naturally, they can make a significant contribution.

Play said that the smartphone will be launched on the 12th of August at £519.99 as the retail price. The BlackBerry Bold 9900 will feature a physical keypad and a touch-screen display.

The smartphone runs on BlackBerry 7 operating system and is powered by a 1.2GHz processor. Meanwhile, Amazon has already placed the device up for pre-order with a launch date of the 15th of September.

Only a fifth of private firms agree for free data protection audit by ICOIn a surprising development, the UK Information Commissioner’s Office has said that only a fifth of the private firms in the country have agreed to a free data protection audit by the authority.

The ICO revealed that just 19 per cent of the firms agreed to the audit in spite of the fact that there were 603 data breaches reported in 2010-2011, including 186 by private business. On the other hand, 71 percent of the public sector firms agreed to the free data protection audit by the ICO.

Atlantis crew takes two iPhones to space

The crew on NASA’s Atlantis space shuttle, which was launched recently for its final mission to the International Space Station (ISS), has taken two of Apple’s iPhone to space to help with experiments.

The iPhone are equipped with custom made software from Odyssey Space Research and will help astronauts track their scientific data. The device is designed with the phones unique attributes including e gyro, accelerometer, cameras and chip. The iPhone’s app called SpaceLab is also available to other users.
