In honor of the World Down Syndrome Day, Saatchi & Saatchi New York created an ad featuring renowned American actress Olivia Wilde. The main motive was to encourage understanding of Down syndrome. A number of people praised the ad titled ‘How do you see me?’ and Wilde.

Many people who believe the advertisement didn’t serve its original purpose have criticized the ad agency and the actress.

People against the ad said Wilde has got too much attention in the video clip, and the girl with the condition is given the back seat. The ad was supposed to be about the girl who is having Down syndrome, but the makers have focused on the actress, they added.

Apple CareKit lets patients share data with researchers and keep tabs on their medical conditions

CareKit is a brand new tool that allows patients share data with researchers and stay updated on their medical conditions.

CareKit is new project under Apple's medical-research platform, ResearchKit. The tool is meant for a wide spectrum of patients, not only for the ones participating in medical studies. The tool can be used by any health-app maker to let patients easily share their health details with the ones concerned about their health. Users can also get other information related to their health, like exercise results.

Thomas Goetz, founder of Iodine, which is one of six CareKit launch partners, said that the software is free and open-source, which means in theory, it may even function on other platforms such as Android.

US sees decline in deaths from heart disease

According to new research published recently in the American Heart Association's journal Circulation, in recent years, heart disease deaths have declined across the United States. The data added that some regions have reported less progress as compared to others.

Previous study conducted by the AHA detected that deaths caused by cardiovascular disease have seen drop of about 29% from 2003 to 2013. Even then, roughly 610,000 people lose lives because of heart disease in the United States each year, contributing to one in every four deaths, as per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Newcastle University has come up with a new study suggesting that people who reverse their diabetes and then shed down their weight can stay diabetes free in long term. They will have to keep their weight under check.

Besides, the team discovered that even patients who suffered from Type 2 diabetes for over a decade can reverse their condition.

Published recently in Diabetes Care, the study is the latest research done by world-renowned Professor Roy Taylor, Professor of Medicine and Metabolism at Newcastle University, who also serves in Newcastle Hospitals.

The moon will enter earth’s shadow in the morning of Wednesday and lead to a penumbral eclipse. People in the East Coast will be able to observe the celestial event with a very bright Jupiter that is scheduled to appear with the moon on Tuesday night.

During the eclipse, residents of the central and western US will see a slightly darkened moon. Other regions of the globe, such as Asia, Australia and Pacific will also be able to catch the glimpse of this special sky event, said Fred Espenak, who is an eclipse expert.
