Indian equities ended the week on a positive note on Friday (Oct 31), on account of continued buying action across board in frontline stocks.

Though the stock market lost its way for a moment during afternoon trading because of a negative closure on the Asian stock markets and a weak start in European markets, frenzied buying action in the final hour of trade boosted it to a strong closure on yesterday.

The US Federal Reserve cut bank rates by 50 basis points, and various other central banks are likely to follow suit sooner than later.

The hunger strike by the South Indian Film Artist Association, on November 1, inside the Nadigar Sangam campus, will be held to show the solidarity of the Tamil industry artists towards the suffering Tamilians in Srilanka. A grand dais has been erected at the Nadigar Sangam for the fast which would be staged between 8 am and 4 pm.

According to latest reports, all the leading stars will attend the event. Superstar Rajinikanth has also ensured his presence in the fast on the condition that the attendees should avoid any kind of controversial speeches on Srilankan issue.

The second production from Moser Baer, ‘Poo’, directed by Sasi, is set to release worldwide on November 21. Sathyam Cinema, a leading exhibitor, has got the Chennai City rights for the release of the film.

‘Poo’ is said to be a crucial release for actor Srikanth, who, along with Parvathy, plays the lead role. The beautiful actress, an ardent fan of method acting, has given a beautiful performance in this film. And that is the reason why she even dubbed for her character in her own voice.

In ‘Wafaa’ - a film directed by Rakhi Sawant’s brother, Rakesh Sawant - former superstar Rajesh Khanna has shocked the industry with the news about his hot smooch and intimate scenes with Pakistani actress Saana Khan. The film also stars Rakhi Sawant, Sudesh Beri and Tinnu Anand.

Khanna plays a Thailand-based multi-millionaire in the film. He marries a conniving young sex-starved airhostess, who is after his wealth. Saana Khan, who is half the veteran actor’s age, plays the object of Khanna’s affection.

Channel [V] is breathing fresh as always. The channel, one of India’s leading youth brands, has launched a game show, “Bingo! V Full On!!” on October 31.
