Mangalore: Private Buses to Pave Way for Government Ones

The private buses in Mangalore will be shortly replaced by Govt. services. This was announced by Transport minister R Ashok.

Private owners are providing city bus services in the city.

A necessary action plan in this regard has already been chalked out. Govt. has issued instructions to the district administration in this regard the minister informed.

He said that the state owned Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is fully equipped to handle transport in the state. He even informed that the state government is planning to ban movement of private buses on national highways in the state.

Gogoi: Assam to form Special Task Force

The Assam Government has decided to constitute a Special Task Force to combat deal with militancy and combat terrorist activities in the state.

It will work on the lines National Security Guards (NSG).

At the initial level two battalions of the STF will be raised. One Inspector General of Police (IGP) rank officer will head STF.

This was announced by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi while talking to reporters. A new police district will be formed exclusively for Guwahati headed by a Commissioner rank officer.

Sena leader shot dead in Navi Mumbai

A local Shiv Sena leader was shot dead at Airoli in Navi Mumbai by unidentified assailants on Sunday.

He was identified as identified as deputy shakhapramukh, Nitin Prabhu.

While Prabhu along with one of his friends were returning from a hotel, two motorcycle-borne gunmen fired at him at about 12.30 in the night.

Prabhu was rushed to the near by hospital, where he was declared dead. His friend sustained minor injuries.

He was running Sai Siddhi Estate Agency in Airoli and having disturbances with Sanjay Jadhav, owner of SM Enterprises at the same. Even before few days ago Sanjay had threatened to finish Prabhu.

Police has registered a case in this regard.

93 arrested in Lanka for links with LTTE
