BSNL Launches Web Conferencing Service In BangalorePublic sector telecom operator BSNL has launched its Web Conferencing that would permit audio, video and image transfer facility to its broadband customers.

Police commissioner Shankar Bidari inaugurated the BSNL Web Conferencing service in Bangalore on Monday.

While explaining the salient features of Web Conferencing, BSNL Karnataka Principal General Manager Subendu Ghosh stated that audio, video and image transfer could be done simultaneously through this new facility.

BSNL has joined hands with Communication Experts Private Limited (CEPL), an Indo-US joint venture, for this, BSNL Karnataka Principal General Manager Subendu Ghosh stated that the new facility lets audio, video and image transfer simultaneously.

Aimed at customers of corporate, enterprise and residential applications, the service also provides virtual meeting rooms, multi-point, multi-media (voice, video and data) conferencing, data-sharing features, document-sharing, chat, whiteboard and a video feature, which lets all members to view one another during the conference.

“It will revolutionalise the Web Conferencing system in the country,” Mr. Ghosh added.

The BSNL Web Conferencing, which requires a standard PC, webcam and headsets and a broadband connection, would be provided free of cost for one month for trial users.

There are plans ranging from Rs 5 to Rs 12 per minute. Moreover, BSNL also announced free games on demand for a month and double usage for broadband customers.
