New York  - US stocks fell Wednesday amid concerns over massive job losses and profit warnings from Intel and Time Warner.

Computer chip giant Intel warned of a fourth-quarter sales plunge of more than 23 per cent and said it expected to record an investment loss of about 1 billion dollars.

The world's largest chipmaker originally forecast between 10.1 billion dollars and 10.9 billion dollars in revenue, but now expects revenues in the crucial holiday period to be just 8.2 billion dollars, down from 10.7 billion dollars a year earlier.

Madrid  - Spanish cup holders Valencia were relieved to escape with a 1-1 draw away to Racing Santander on Wednesday, in a lively fifth round first leg clash.

Valencia, who beat Getafe 3-1 in last season's final, had Vicente and Miguel sent off in the dying minutes, when Santander came close to winning.

Kolkata: Hospitals refuse to admit a 28-year-old women who was over 90% burnt in a suicide attempt on Monday. Her family members had to wait for about 18 hours for her treatment. They took her to four hospitals.

A resident of Dum Dum Cantonment home, Ms. Lopamudra Mitra, tried to commit suicide in her home around 6.30pm as she was unable to bear her husband's extra-marital affair, said her relatives. Around 7 pm, she was taken to Medical College and Hospital, followed by Kothari Medical Centre and Research Institute and RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The hospital's officials claimed that their burn wards were under-equipped.
