Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is now learning video editing.
On his blog bigb. bigadda. com, Big B wrote, "After an entire morning of learning how to edit a DVD on my own, I have finally managed a little snippet."
"That little snippet was an attempt to understand the business of editing," he added.
Amitabh also posted the video on his blog.
The video showed the actor waving to hordes of fans gathered outside his Jalsa home.

M&M Buys 55.2% Stake In Electric Car Maker ‘REVA’

Auto major Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) has acquired 55.2% equity stake in electric car manufacturer REVA through a combination of equity purchase and fresh capital infusion of Rs 45 crore.
After acquisition, the name of Bangalore-based REVA will be changed to Mahindra REVA.
Mr. Pawan Goenka, M&M's automotive sector president will be named as the chairman of the company's new unit.
Reva promoter Chetan Maini will stay on with the company as its technology and strategy chief. He will also be a member of the board.
Infosys watches inwards, to start 2 centers in Bangalore

After getting clearance from the Karnataka government on Monday, the IT giant, Infosys Technologies has declared that it will start two new centers in Bangalore.
These will deal with the software development part and will require an investment of Rs. 2,950 crore, which the company is going to do very soon.
'Kites' Screening Banned In Bangalore

Most of the movie theatres in Bangalore, on Friday, stopped the screening of Hrithik-Barbara starrer 'Kites' in the middle as Kannada film makers entered the theatres expressing opposition against screening of the film in more theatres than decided.
According to Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), the makers of the film (Kites) had decided to release the movie in 21 theatres only, but it was being shown in 45.
AirAsia Starts Bangalore-Kuala Lumpur Service

Malaysian low-cost carrier AirAsia has made announcement about the launching of its maiden flight to India's Bangalore city, carrying 15 kids having congenital heart disease who need open heart surgery.
The kids will have surgical operation at the Narayana Hrudayalaya Heart Institute in Bangalore, whose chief Devi Shetty is a familiar name here as he regularly performs surgeries.
Kathleen Tan, AirAsia group commercial regional head, stated that the newly introduced service was expected to promote medical tourism in India.
Huawei to set up new campus in Bangalore

Leading Chinese telecom equipment maker Huawei Technologies has declared that it is going to set up a new campus in Bangalore. Earlier there were reports in media that the company was facing huge issues over security hurdles in its supply in India.
It was believed that the Chinese firm is facing security problems from the Indian operators to supply its products in the country. But it seems to all right for Huawei as it has announced to come up with a campus in the tech city of the country. It has also said to invest $100 million for this set up.

Bangalore based Software development firm, Valuemart Info Technologies has informed that it has got an international order from UAE. The firm has said that it has managed to get a$4.5 million contract from the UAE-based Supreme Software Technologies. It will be developing a project help desk solution for the UAE firm.
Managing Director of Valuemart Info Technologies, Mr. C. K. Vasudevan has informed that the project help desk suite is an enterprise web-based solution. It is basically an electronic monitoring of project-related processes inside the firm.

From the time when he lost the chance to be a part of Raj Kumar Hirani's megahit '3 Idiots' Ranbir Kapoor has been in quest of a reason to visit the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Bangalore where the movie was shot.
The actor has been telling pals, he didn't mind missing out on the movie. But he did mind not being able to visit the IIM campus in Bangalore.
The chance to do so fell into Ranbir's lap. He visited the IIM Bangalore on May 10 for an inter-face with pupils on the topic of Youth and Politics.
Wipro Q4 Net Up 21% To Rs 1209 Crore

For three month period ended March 2010, Wipro Ltd recorded a growth of 21% in its net profit, which stood at Rs 1209 crore.
In a regulatory filing, the IT giant said that its total revenue for the fourth quarter (Q4) climbed 8% YoY to Rs 6983 crore.
Under the International Financial Regulatory Standard (IFRS), the company net income during the quarter under review was $269 million and total revenue $1.55 billion.

Bangalore, April 4 - Kannada actress Praneetha, who has been making news for all the wrong reasons in her one-year film career, has been selected to play the lead role in Telugu film "Bava" directed by debutant Ram Babu.
The actress, who paired with a bigger star like Darshan in her debut film "Porki", will be playing the role of a village belle, unlike her modern girl's role in her first Kannada film "Porki". Praneetha says she would prefer to work in Kannada films but would also take up some strong roles in other language films.
Turnout of voters below 50 pct in Bangalore

On Sunday, the voters were called in to vote for their men and women representatives in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike and hardly anyone voted. There were only 44.6% who voted, not even 50%.
It is very strange to notice such a poor turnout of voters across 198 wards in Bangalore, when the citizens had long been expressing their aggression for not having elected representatives to the city's governing body. The citizens also blamed the government for not ensuring these polls were held on time. However, when the time finally came for the citizens to give their decision, there was hardly any response.

Pankaj Advani has won the National title for the 20th time after defeating Brijesh Damani of West Bengal 8-7 in a thrilling final of the Six Red Snooker National Championship in Bangalore on Monday.
Pankaj was made to fight hard by his opponent for win as Pankaj won the match in the last frame by 25-54, 51-0, 43-9, 60-1, 29-5, 0-69, 36-33, 30-38, 31-35, 38-33, 6-48, 47-19, 11-65, 48-2, 33-2.
Pankaj lost the first frame but he came back strongly to win the next four frames by clearing four loose reds. Damani played an attacking game thereafter to take lead by 6-5 but Pankaj held his nerves to win the final frame and the match.
Tussle continues in Bosch

The component making unit is the main factory of the company.
If the management goes for a lockout, it will be the second in a row. The plant at Naganathapura was closed on March 9, after the agitating employees refused to come back to normalcy.
As much as 3,000 employees have gone on a go-slow strike. Another 1,000 employees have already stopped working for the past two days.
Bosch shuts down its Bangalore plant

The announcement came as a shock to many when Bosch, one of the leading auto component manufacturers in the country and a subsidiary of Robert Bosch announced a lock-out at its Naganathpura production plant.
While the lock-out was declared keeping in mind the safety of employees, machinery and the other installations, the situation arise when there was a rift between an officer and a worker over wage revision.

Bangalore, March 1 - Kannada star Shivaraj Kumar will be seen in as many as 11 roles immortalised on screen by his father and legendary actor Raj Kumar in one song of forthcoming film "Cheluvueye Ninne Nodalu".
Shivaraj Kumar will portray the 11 characters in a song that will be a remix of the hugely popular number "Huttidhare Kannada..." from Raj Kumar's film "Akasmika". "Huttidhare Kannada..." continues to be a hit with listeners even 17 years after the movie's release.
Number portability lands in Chennai and Bangalore

The much awaited scheme for the mobile number portability has sought a clearance from the central Government as it will soon be launched in Bangalore and Chennai. This was confirmed by the Communications and Information Minister Mr. A. Raja.
The mobile number portability would allow users to migrate from one telecom service provider to the other without change in phone numbers. It was proposed to be launched earlier than May but got procrastinated due to the pending security issues for the devices which were being imported from other countries.
