ABB opens its new facility in Bangalore
ABB, a leader in power and automation technologies, on Wednesday announced the opening of its greenfield automation products facility near Bangalore.
The inauguration of latest facility is one of many initiatives that company has taken up in India to build and expand capacity to meet the needs of the future.
The Bangalore factory, spread over 18 acres, was built at a cost of $50 million. Through the facility, the company will manufacture products such as air circuit breakers, switch fuse units, moulded case circuit breakers, low and medium voltage drives and systems, MCC & PLC products, high power rectifiers, static excitation systems and main & auxiliary traction converters.
A top company official during inauguration ceremony informed that the new production facility will increases ABB's production capacity in India and enhances its footprint in the region.
The new facility is expected to add $100 million to the topline of ABB India in about two years.
