Los Angeles  - A comedy starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon as a couple trying to avoid their families at Christmas debuted in first place over the weekend at North American box offices, according to preliminary studio estimates issued Sunday.

For Friday to Sunday, Four Christmases had ticket sales of 31.7 million dollars to top the box-office rankings for the three-day weekend.

Marking the start of the traditional Christmas holiday weekend, it was one of four major films to debut.

London, November 28 : Reese Witherspoon has revealed that she had never held a baby in her life before the birth of her first child, and that she was afraid that she would not be “a good mum”.

The ‘Legally Blonde’ star, who shares custody of her kids Ava, 9, and Deacon, 5, with her ex-hubby Ryan Phillipe, said that she had taken time to get used to being a mother.

“The first time I held Ava was the first time I’d ever held a baby in my life. I’d never babysat for anyone and I didn’t have any cousins,” the Mirror quoted her as telling the Ticket.

The actress, who eventually went on to win the Academy Award in 2006 for her role in Johnny Cash biopic ‘Walk The Line’, insisted that wasn''''t ready to step up onstage and address the star-studded audience at Hollywood''''s Kodak Theatre.

"The whole time I was sitting there, hoping they wouldn''''t call my name - just because the idea of having to give a speech in front of everyone in the world is terrfying,” Contactmusic quoted Witherspoon as saying.

Melbourne, Nov 25 : Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon revealed that the idea of working with real life beau Jake Gyllenhaal made her pick ‘Four Holidays’.

"I usually take movies based on scripts and who I''ll be working with," she says earnestly of her latest comedy, Four Holidays.

"And the main reason I did this movie was to work with Jake,” Herald Sun quoted Resse, as saying.

The ‘The Man In The Moon’ actress revealed that the flick is lighthearted comedy.
