US commitment to fight terrorism should be total: Mukherjee

Pranab MukherjeeHelmand (Afghanistan), Jan. 22 : Having handed over the 215-km-long Zaranj-Delaram Highway to Afghanistan, visiting Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee used his two-day visit to this landlocked war and militant ravaged country to reiterate on Thursday the United States key role in tackling terror in South Asia.

Talking to ANI here, he said that relations between India and the United States "has reached new heights in the last couple of years and it should be maintained at that level."

Mukherjee asks international community to fight with terrorism

India And PakistanNew Delhi, Jan 21 : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today asked the international community to collectively fight the menace of terrorism.

Addressing the first Delhi Dialogue on Regional Security and Cooperation here, Mukherjee said the growing political and economic linkages with ASEAN nations will send a message that the designs of terrorists will be defeated not just by India but by the International community as a whole.

"The trend towards inter-connectedness needs to grow much more," he added.

India calls for enhancing cooperation and dialogue with African Nations.

External Affairs Minister Pranab MukherjeeNew Delhi, Jan 19: Inaugurating a two-day India-Africa Business Partnership summit in New Delhi on Monday, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee called for increased cooperation and dialogue with African nations on crucial global issues, including Jihadi terrorism.

Mukherjee also referred other issues like climate change, food and energy security, health, marine piracy and democratization of financial institutions.

26/11 perpetrators should be handed to India:Pranab

Pranab MukherjeeNew Delhi, Jan 16 : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee made it clear in a press conference that perpetrators of terrorism in this country must be handed over to face "Indian justice," and clarified that there is "no dilution" of that stand.

He had earlier said that India would have no objection if those behind terror attacks here are put to "fair trial" in Pakistan itself.
