Canadian Immigration Minister meets Pranab Mukherjee

Pranab MukherjeeNew Delhi, Jan 13 : Jason Kenney, Canadian Minister for Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism met External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee here today.

Kenney arrived in India on the last leg of his 12-day long tour to Asia after concluding his two-day tour of Pakistan.

Kenny is expected to visit Amritsar, Chandigarh and Mumbai where he is scheduled to meet business and education leaders to communicate Canada''s immigration policy innovations to strengthen people-to-people ties between the two countries.

India has given ''entire'' documents to Pakistan on Mumbai attack: Pranab Mukherjee

Lalgola (West Bengal) Jan. 11 : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday said that India has given "entire" documents related to Mumbai terror attacks to Pakistan.

Responding to the allegations that India did not hand over all documents on Mumbai terror attacks to Pakistan, Pranab Mukherjee said: "It is a false allegation that we did not hand over all documents pertaining to the attack on India''s financial hub... we have given entire documents on the matter to Pakistan."

Mukherjee added that the conspiracy and plan for the attack had been hatched in Pakistan, and therefore, it followed that the neighbouring country had to probe activities of the elements involved in planning the strike.

Take India''s concerns to the world: Mukherjee

Pranab MukherjeeChennai, Jan. 8 : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday said that overseas Indians could take to the world stage some of India’s key concerns such as terrorism, education and trade agenda.

In particular, he said, they could convey the message to their respective countries that India is fully committed to free and fair trade.

Expressing appreciation for diaspora sympathy for the Mumbai terror attacks, he called upon the overseas Indian community to raise its voice against sponsored terrorism, as terrorism ‘diminishes mankind’.
