India slams Pakistan for its ''flip-flop'' on Kasab''s nationality

Ajmal Amir KasabChennai, Jan 8 : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today slammed Pakistan for its "flip-flop" on Kasab''s nationality.

"Kasab has told us quite categorically where he comes from, where he received military and arms training and where his handlers are located. Unfortunately, despite this, we have seen a consistent flip-flop in the reaction of the government in Islamabad," Mukherjee said at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Chennai.

Diplomats from various countries meet Pranab Mukherjee

Pranab MukherjeeNew Delhi, Jan 6 : A group of diplomats from various countries like Sri Lanka, Turkey, Arab States Mission met External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee here today and condemned the recent Mumbai terror attack.

The condemnation by Arab States Mission assumes significance because it has 22 members, most of whom are Muslim countries. It can be a set back for Pakistan.

Mukherjee said Pakistan has the duty to act against these outfits even if they change their names. Pakistan is a party to various international conventions and if it fails to take any action, then the international community will take ''appropriate action''.

Mukherjee says India did not escalate tensions

Pranab MukherjeeNew Delhi, Dec. 30 : Responding to Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi''''s statement of the need for deescalating tensions between India and Pakistan, External Minister Pranab Mukherjee said war hysteria is being created by Pakistan itself.

"My point is we did not escalate the thing at all, we have not done anything which can escalate the tension between India and Pakistan," Mukherjee said at a press conference here today.

No Ultimatum Given To Pakistan, Says PranabOn Sunday, the External Affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee called for demolition of terror camps in Pakistan. He also reminded Islamabad of its commitment not to allow terrorist activities.

It should b noted though that no ultimatum was given to the neighboring nation to act by him.

He said, “No ultimatum was set. There is no question of any ultimatum. Nobody has set any ultimatum.”
