Doctors couldn't diagnose cancer for 9 months: Michael Douglas

Los Angeles, May 15 - Actor Michael Douglas says for nine months doctors could not find out that he has cancer and kept giving him antibiotics.
The actor, married to Catherine Zeta Jones, suffered from throat cancer in 2010.
"I knew something was wrong... my tooth was really sore, and I thought I had an infection. I had two rounds of appointments with ear-nose-and-throat doctors and periodontists. They each gave me antibiotics," mirror. co. uk quoted Douglas.

London, Sep 9 : Actor Michael Douglas will be honoured with Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film.
The Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film serves as a fundraiser for the 27th edition of Santa Barbara International Film Festival which will start Jan 26 2012.
Douglas, 66, will receive the award, which is named after his movie legend father Kirk, at a gala dinner in California Oct 11 this year.

Washington, Sept 14 : Michael Douglas wishes he had taken anaesthesia during his knee replacement surgery as the nightmares of the operation still haunt him.
Contactmusic quoted him as saying: "I stayed up for the operation... They gave me a local epidural.

"No love-interest stuff for me now," the Telegraph quoted him as saying.
The `Basic Instinct' star spoke about his character in new courtroom drama `Beyond a Reasonable Doubt.'
He said: "I play the bad guy, the rough old villain. My character is that duplicitous meanie I somehow specialise in."
Douglas and wife/actress Catherine Zeta Jones recently moved from Bermuda to an apartment in New York, to make it easier to pursue his film career. (ANI)

Washington, Sep 11 : American actor Michael Douglas has revealed that he has been trying his best to cope with the difficult situation he has landed in after the arrest of his son, Cameron, on a charge of drug dealing.
Cameron, 30, who had been arrested on July 28 and charged with dealing methamphetamine, also known as crystal meth, faces a potential life sentence.
"I'm holding up fine," People magazine quoted the actor as saying at the New York City premiere of his new film, `Beyond a Reasonable Doubt'.
