Pak not embarrassed by Mumbai attacks: Qureshi
Islamabad, Feb 17 : Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that non-state actors were involved in the Mumbai terror attacks, adding that he is not embarrassed as the Pakistan Government is clean.
Replying to a question about the Mumbai carnage, Qureshi said the government had condemned the incident from day one and had condoled with those who had lost their near and dear ones in it.
He said the government had carried out its investigation but the dossier given to them by India was `very inadequate and sketchy'.
Pakistan had used its resources and investigation abilities and had a clear picture that it had honestly shared with India, Qureshi told CNN.
India had not constituted its investigation team yet but started pointing fingers at Pakistan soon after the incident, he said, adding that the Pakistani investigation into the attacks had raised many questions that needed to be answered to guide the prosecution process to its logical conclusion.
"Our investigations have found missing links and today even the Indian people talk about the possibility of involvement of internal elements in the attacks."
Qureshi reiterated that Pakistan was an active partner in the war against terrorism and extremism.
"It is our own war and we are waging it in our own interest. Pakistan itself is a victim of terrorism and we are playing our role effectively and sincerely. It is in Pakistan's interest to get rid of terrorists, if there are any, in the Tribal Areas". (ANI)
