Nokia India may take the Rs 20.8 billion ($370M) tax dispute with income-tax authorities back to the Delhi High Court as the Commissioner of Income-tax Appeals has dismissed its appeal.

In March this year, the Indian income-tax department had served the Finland-based handset maker's Indian unit with the tax demand for a period of five years starting 2006-07. Nokia challenged the tax demand in the Delhi High Court, which referred the case to the appeals division of income tax authorities. But, the Commissioner of Income-tax Appeals dismissed the appeal.

Chennai, June 1 : DMK president M. Karunanidhi said Saturday he would consult lawyers and chart out a course of action over the personal appearance of his wife Dayalu Ammal before a CBI court.

The special CBI court hearing the 2G spectrum allocation case in New Delhi had Friday dismissed the application of Dayalu Ammal seeking exemption from personal appearance, and directed her to appear before it July 8.

Speaking to reporters here, Karunanidhi said: "As the court's order is not final, what should be done will have to be decided after discussions with lawyers."

On May 28, 2008, the first meeting of Constituent Assembly declared Nepal as a federal republic, bringing to an end the 240-year-old monarchy.

Seoul, June 1 : South Korea posted a trade surplus of $6.03 billion in May as exports grew at a faster pace than the previous month despite the continued devaluation of the Japanese yen, a government report showed Saturday.

Trade surplus was $6.03 billion in May after logging a surplus of $2.45 billion in April, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The trade balance maintained its surplus trend for 16 straight months, reported Xinhua.

Madrid, June 1 : Governor of the Bank of Spain Luis Maria Linde said that Spain was faced with challenges in achieving economic recovery.

The Bank forecast a slight economic recovery for 2014, with the Spanish government expecting a growth of 0.5 percent, said Linde Friday while presenting the Bank's 2012 annual report, which also warned of high unemployment rate.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) said Thursday that Spain's unemployment rate would reach 28 percent in 2014 as the country's economy is expected to return to growth.
