Sea lion pup snatched from LA beach

According to an animal rescue expert, a seal or sea lion pup, which has been snatched from a Los Angeles beach early Sunday, could ferociously bite and those who abducted the animal should have been told this.

According to Los Angeles Police Officer Rosario Herrera, a witness said that four people snatched the pup after wrapping it in a blanket and left in a car from Dockweiler State Beach, just west of the city's international airport at around 3:20 am.

Slow Down for Right Whales or Face Penalties, says NOAA

Last year, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) levied fines on four large yachts. These yachts were charged for travelling at speeds greater than 10 knots in the right whale management areas.

Penalties for the violations range from $9,000 to $11,500. This year, the NOAA has reminded recreational boaters to mind their speed for right whales or face penalty. Steps are being taken for whales, especially for North Atlantic right whales that are critically endangered.

Their western North Atlantic population now stands at just around 450. This month, the whales will migrate from off the coast of Florida and Georgia to feeding areas in the Gulf of Maine and northern Atlantic.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will hold guarantee fees for mortgages at existing levels

The US housing finance firms have been asked to improve their structure for guarantee fees. The regulator has directed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to take the steps. However, it said that the changes would be 'revenue neutral'.

According to the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), Fannie and Freddie will cut guarantee fees for some borrowers and increase them for others. Predictably, the regulator is removing a 25-basis-point adverse market fee, which the companies forced on all new borrowers in 2008, when housing prices fell rapidly.

Unemployment Rate in Ohio Remains Unchanged in March

As per a statistics released on Friday, unemployment rate in Ohio stands at 5.1% between February and March 2015. The statistics released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services remains unchanged during the period.

During the same time period, the number of jobs in Ohio increased by 1,500. The number of jobs increased from 5,385,000 in February to 5,386,500 in March. In the last 12 months, the number of unemployed people in state has declined by 50,000. Also, the jobless rate has declined from 6.0% a year ago.

Antitrust Lawyers may be leaning against Comcast Merger

According to people familiar with the matter, the staff attorneys at the Justice Department's antitrust division are about to give a recommendation to block Comcast Corp.'s bid to buy Time Warner Cable Inc.

According to media reports, the attorneys, who have been investigating Comcast's $45.2 billion proposal for the creation of a nationwide cable giant, have leaned against the merger. They are concerned that it could harm the consumers, and that they might submit their review by next week.
