Air India urges employees to forego their July payAir India, the public sector aviation major in India, is facing worst ever cash crisis and has urged its employees to forego their July month pay so that AI can cut the cost as the company is fighting for its survival.

The Chairman and Managing director of the Air India, Arvind Jadhav said that all the employees of aviation industry have not faced any problem yet due to recession as they have been receiving their salaries, wages and PLI month regularly while many people had lost their jobs in another industries.

Supply of coins is less than demand

RBI deputy general manager K MohanThe State Bank of India (SBI) and Bank of Baroda (BoB) have recently confirmed that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has not supplied coins from several months.

RBI deputy general manager K Mohan said that the requirement of coins by the different currency chests which are handled by different banks is more than the current supply of coins.

There was also a time lag and difference in the quantity of coins supplied as the Margao branch of SBI was supplied coins of one and two rupees in February this year while BoB got supplies around October-November last year.

Cash rewards for Suranjoy and Nanao

BoxingM Suranjoy and Th Nanao, who won gold and silver medals respectively in their weight categories in the Asian Boxing Championship, 2009 held at Zhuhai in China, were warmly welcomed by the state Governor, Gurbachan Jagat at the Raj Bhavan in Imphal yesterday.

The Governor also gave cash awards of Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 to Suranjoy and Nanao respectively for their outstanding performance in the Asian Boxing Championship and he asked them to maintain discipline and bring more medals for their state and country.
