Kirsten warned for his IPL remarks
Indian cricket team coach Gary Kirsten has been warned by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for his recent remarks on Indian Premier League (IPL) in which he said that due to participation of Indian players in IPL-2, they were mentally as well as physically tired for the ICC T20 World Cup.
According to sources, BCCI president Shashank Manohar and secretary N Srinivasan met with Kirsten and he was told not to speak openly against the IPL. Board's dissatisfaction was conveyed to him in London before the Indian team left for the West Indies.
Kirsten had blamed IPL for early exit of Indian team from ICC T20 World Cup and he said that players may not get permission to play in next season of IPL ahead of ICC T20 World Cup in April 2010.
Although, Srinivasan did not comment on this issue saying that he cannot reveal what he had discussed with Kirsten.
