British Foreign Secretary David MilibandLondon  - British Foreign Secretary David Miliband on Sunday rejected comments by Iranian Foreign Minister Manoucher Mottaki alleging that Britain was stirring protests over the outcome of Iran's June 12 presidential election.

In a deepening diplomatic row - earlier Sunday the Iranian parliament voted to start studying a possible revision of Tehran's ties with Britain, France and Germany - Miliband suggested that Mottaki was trying to divert attention from Iran's internal problems.

Participating in the festivities in the capital Nuuk were Danish Queen Margrethe II and Greenland's new premier, Kuupik Kleist, as Greenlanders celebrated the upgrading of their political status from "hjemmestyre" (home rule) into "selvstyre" (self-rule).

China sends first medical tour group to TaiwanTaipei  - The first Chinese medical tour group to Taiwan departed Sunday to benefit from the island's advanced medical facilities and techniques.

The inaugural group consists of 30 people from China's southern Guangzhou province. They are to enjoy a six-day tour which combines physical checkups, spa and sightseeing.

The general medical procedures they are to undergo include positron emission tomography (PET) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, X-rays and specific diagnoses required by individual tourists.

Egypt confirms five new cases of swine flu

Egypt confirms five new cases of swine flu Cairo  - Egypt's Health Ministry on Sunday announced five new confirmed cases of the new H1N1, or swine flu, virus in the North African country, and two additional suspected cases.

The five cases bring the total number of Egyptian cases of the virus to 39, Abdel-Rahman Shahin said.

Among the five cases were three Egyptian children who returned to Cairo with their families two days ago: a 6-year-old Egyptian girl arriving from the United States, a
9-year-old Egyptian-Canadian boy, and his 7-year-old sister.
