B’town Had Late Reaction To Udaan

B’town Had Late Reaction To UdaanDirector Vikramaditya Motwane is a happy, contented, and satisfied man. His maiden directorial venture has been critically acclaimed and to add more spark to this happiness, the Big B himself has blogged for the film.

Motwane reminisces that there was a time when actors refused to walk down the red carpet for Udaan at Cannes. Now the movie has broken barriers and is being praised everywhere. Vikramaditya himself says that the film isn't about stars or who is cast in it; it's about strong performances.

Vikramaditya rubbishes rumors that the movie was actually inspired from his actual life. He says that Udaan was his transition from a writer to a director, and it was perhaps a mere coincidence that people think it's based on his own life.

The film was written around 7 years back, in the year 2003 and the debutant director had to struggle for a couple of years before he could find a producer. However, he says that this struggle sure was frustrating but it actually helped him to gain a clearer perspective of the film and he could write with a free mind. In a way, his creative freedom was completely transparent and wasn't barred by anyone.
