“My Name is Khan” to gather in Rs 30 million from DTH
The Shahrukh Khan-Kajol starrer "My Name is Khan" has been a blockbuster. Its box office collection was Rs 735 million.
It has managed to conquer the box office when it was released in cinemas in February 2010. Its domestic as well as overseas collection has been outstanding. But now distributors have decided to bring it to small screen as well.
Now it is all set to sweep the television as it is going to being telecast in almost all major DTH platforms in the country from 27th of May. I will be seen on Tata Sky, Dish TV, Sun Direct, Airtel Digital TV, Videocon D2H and Big TV.
Fox Star Studios CEO Vijay Singh has informed that the company has decided to put the movie on DTH platforms to monetize the film.
The viewers have to pay sticker price of Rs 50 to view the movie in DTH.
Most importantly the distributors are expected to raise revenue of Rs 30 to 35 million from the film from this DTH platform.
