Rome - A dull Juventus needed an own goal to edge struggling Napoli 1-0 late Saturday for a win that pushed them to within six points of Serie A leaders Inter Milan.

Juve captain Alessandro Del Piero fired a first drive before David Trezeguet had a volley saved on 15 minutes by goalkeeper Nicolas Navarro, who then saw Sebastian Giovinco fire the rebound above the bar.

The Argentine made another great dive two minutes later to slap a nasty Del Piero free kick above the bar.

Rome  - Mauro Zarate scored a brace for Lazio Saturday as the Rome side beat visiting Bologna 2-0 in a Serie A weekend opener.

The young Argentine stunned Francesco Antonioli on 36 minutes curling a free kick above the wall into the corner by the closest post.

Throughout the first half, Pasquale Foggia was a major worry for Bologna down the left flank as the Rome hosts dominated the game.
